NY, for the Red Bull Creation
spectator event, and we'd love

What is this curiously magnificent occasion we speak of?

The Red Bull Creation event is a 3-day challenge in Brooklyn, where
teams from all over the nation are given 72 hours to build something
amazing based on a specific topic — which is top secret for now! On
July 10th, the teams will reveal their inventions to a live crowd at
McCarren Park in Brooklyn for their chance to win bot

Show and Tell - Worldwide Deviant "meetup&quoI was thinking about it the other day, and it occurred to me that although I have so many friends on this site and so many people I admire, I don't know what half of you sound like or even look like! And so many of you are so far away that I fear our paths may never cross. I talked to some other deviants about this, and they too found it sad that they don't know all of their watchers as well as they would like.
I thought it would be fun if we all got together and posted videos as a way to introduce ourselves to those we may never get to meet in real life! Kind of like a little mini deviant meet up, but for everyone, everywhere!
Of course, if you do not have a way to record yourself, you are encouraged to answer some of the topics (or your own introduction) in a journal entry, and post a self-portrait if possible. You too will be included in the final collection, just follow the steps I've listed for the video folks, except post your journal link instead.

Deviants for the CureIn Febuary 2006, I announced in a journal that I would be racing in the 2006 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure here in Portland, Oregon on September 17. I also announced that there are slips of pink paper that I would wear during the run, on each slip being a list of names of people who had died from cancer, are fighting cancer, or have survived the battle. I'd like to re-extend that offer for September 2007 to the whole dA community. Let me first provide a bit of background info on the subject matter.
"Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer among women in the US and is the leading cause of cancer deaths among women age forty to fifty-nine. It is second only to lung cancer as a cause of cancer deaths in women.
Breast cancer accounts for one of every three cancer diagnosis in women. About 211,240 cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in women this year and over 40,000 this year will die.
There are over two million breast cancer survivors alive today in the US and the

Op zaterdag 24 oktober 2009 hebben wij een meeting geplant in Utrecht!
Wat kan ik verwachten van deze meeting?
Wij hebben het volgende programma bedacht:
- 13:00 Verzamelen buiten bij de Burger King, op Utrecht Centraal.
- 13:30-14:00/14:30 Speurtocht! Je wordt gekoppeld aan een van de andere leden en jullie krijgen een aantal opdrachten om uit te voeren. Het team dat als eerste deze opdrachten heeft uitgevoerd (met mooie foto’s als bewijs), zal een news report feature winnen!
- 14:00/14:30 Door de stad lopen, shoppen en lol maken.
- 17:00 Verzamelen bij de Dom kerk voor de groepsfoto.
- 17:30 Einde van de meeting. Je kunt altijd nog in de stad blijven om meer dingen te zien.

Virtual Worldwide Deviant MeetupAfter seeing all the deviant meet-ups that go on in real life, I became saddened that there are so many deviants that do not live near me, and I will never get to meet in real life.
